- Summary
- In an isolated village, misery eats away at the inhabitants and their dreams. The villagers of Saint-Elie-de-Caxton barely have enough food to survive and their gardens don't produce enough to stave off hunger. One spring, Esimésac, blessed with a powerful spirit, convinces the townsfolk to collaborate on a community garden. Each person, he argues, will multiply his or her yield by cultivating the land together
