- Still reeling from the shock of discovering that Sherlock Holmes is her grandfather and that her guardian, Mrs. Jones, is actually the infamous Irene Adler and her grandmother, Portia decides to distract herself by consulting with Scotland Yard on their hard-to-crack cases. Before long, Portia's got her hands full again, investigating a brazen theft ... and the mysterious disappearance of some local women. When she meets a resourceful reporter named Annie and they strike up a friendship, Annie begins reporting on Portia as the consulting detective keeping London safe--with the understanding that she must keep Portia's true identity a secret. But an impostor comes forward, and Portia must choose between remaining anonymous and letting the world know the truth
